Jacobs commits to Wisconsin

Jacobs has intentions of leaving Madison as a member of Wisconsin's 2013 recruiting class.

As Badger247 reported earlier this morning, Wisconsin was on the verge of receiving a commitment from Bakersfield (Calif.) Golden Valley Linebacker Leon Jacobs this weekend.

This morning, Jacobs made it official by giving his verbal commitment to Head Coach Gary Andersen and the Badgers. Jacobs confirmed his commitment to Badger247.

"They're changing defenses" Jacobs said heading into the visit about why he was leaning towards Wisconsin. "It suits my position really well."

Golden Valley Head Coach Robert Fisher broke down Jacobs' commitment to Wisconsin.

"Just the connection he had with the coaches," said Fisher. Coach Aranda came on Monday and had an in-home visit. He had a real good connection with Coach Aranda and his family did as well. His dad is pretty excited about Wisconsin."

Jacobs had two finalists of Wake Forest and Wisconsin, and also held other offers from Air Force, Fresno State, and Nevada among others.

Stay tuned to Badger247 for more on this developing story.
