We lost the Rose Bowl. We haven't played in a BCS championship game. We can make the sweet sixteen but haven't advanced to the elite 8, final 4 or won an NCAA championship since 1942 (think it was 42). And we haven't won a BIG championship in basketball in over 4 years.
What should be done to rectify this situation. Why can't we fans get what we expect?
Do we fire people? Who do we fire? Who realistically can we get to upgrade what we have?
Interested in your thoughts.

Don't fire anybody. Hope the pieces fall into place and we win big against the odds. The UW is at a big competitive disadvantage in all sports except hockey. We shouldn't be the best.

I'm guessing AZ was making those statements tongue-in-cheek due to the negative comments following the Rose Bowl losses the past two years, and following the BBall teams exit in the NCAA tourny.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to come out on the other end of those hail marys and time out issues, and game winning shot attempts more often, but I moved from WI to CO two years ago and UW sports has been awesome... I almost fear moving back, so I don't ruin the mojo of Wisconsin sports.
Yeah who the hell is unhappy? Personally i think we've been spoiled for the last 10-15 years in athletics, now we're just expecting the next level (ncaa championships). There are literally hundreds of other D-1 schools that would kill for our football & basketball resumes. It's going to be a bit frustrating until we actually reach the pinnacle, but otherwise i couldn't be happier to be a badger fan, this is as good as it's ever been. And didn't we go to the elite 8 w/D. Harris & co.? 2002 i think? i could be wrong...

I don't think Wisconsin football will ever win a national championship. To much naturally going against us. In state talent, history, etc. We can win one, we can compete for one probably every ten-fifteen years, but the odds are against it. Something always happens, it happens to lot of schools.
Wisconsin basketball can win a national championship, imo, because basketball is a different beast from football. How do we win one? Recruit better and get lucky. We have a great coach, we just need some players who are more talented.
Look at Butler, they made two NCAA finals, so it is possible, but it also involves luck and getting hot.
Just look at a few players that UW basketball lost out on or were 2nd for, one or two more players that can create their own shot, and who knows.
We are unhappy, what should we do?
