Are the Bagers recruiting only around 10 kids right now? I know where's more, there has to be, but who? I know we have limited spots left, but the kids we are recruiting, we should be recruiting harder than any other schools. We're not on many kids, so we should be in intense.
Thought?

By my best count/guess there will be 16 scholarships available. One goes to Steffes and one to next years kicker. That leaves 14. How many underclassmen do we lose? How many RS JR leave?
We have 8 Commitments. Doesn't leave a lot of open scholies.
Looks like 2 WR, 2 OL, 1 DE and 1 DT are what's left.

The numbers game is gonna be tricky.
Right now we're at a full 85 man scholarship roster, and we have 16 seniors. But we also only have 10 juniors, and if Monte Ball goes pro, we could only have 9 scholarships to offer in *next* years class (2013).
So for this year's class (2012) with 16 spots we already have 8 commits, plus 2 greyshirts coming in (Steffes & Hammon), so that makes 10, plus you've got to figure Jared Abbrederis will go on scholarship next year, so that's 11.
Which leaves 5/6 spots...but do you want to save a couple of scholarships so 2013's class isn't only 9 players? And what about Ethan Armstrong & Ethan Hemer, do they go on scholarship next year too?
I'd say 4-5 open up every year at least, just like this past year. A lot of attrition isn't publicized like it was in the case of Zach Brown but about four five generally open up on their own and more can open up with some... encouragement.
From last year I can think of Anthony Mains, Kevin Rouse, Brown, Rob Korslin and Zach Davison.
BTW ITTG, Hammon is not a grey shirt, he's with the team already.

Hammon is on a 4 for 5 deal. That is why he is practicing.
Abbrederis is on schollie
Steffes is a grey and will join team in January
French will be on schollie when he wins the job. Next year.
Not sure if Meyer will get a schollie right away but he will most likely punt next year.
Trotter has one coming, not sure when.
Armstrong may earn one.
Hemer may earn one and is the most deserving IMO
Stave is a 3 for 5 I think but I am not sure he automatically will get one.
I know there is typically some attrition. There are alot of DE's if some of the older ones get passed you may see one leave. Other than that I do not see a lot of potential transfers on this team.

Oh, i checked the roster on the official site & he wasn't listed, so i assumed he was still scheduled to come in next year.
I could have sworn I saw some quotes about older players talking about him in workouts. If he were a grey shirt, he can't participate in team activities till the second semester. But you must be correct, as he's not on the roster- perhaps he was working out with them informally over the summer.
