MSU is poking a sleeping tiger with a stick

    Because your thugs are worse???

Did your rent-a-QB make your team that much better than the one that lost in EL last year?

I love how jealous people are...our "rent-a-QB" might win every game on the schedule this season.

You know you're an elite program when you have this many haters, I love it.

You can follow me on twitter, http://twitter.com/#!/jay_skebba , but I suggest you don't.

With OSU down and this recent censored, MSU has quickly become my least favorite B1G team and team in the state of Michigan for that matter. There D is filled with a bunch of punks and I hope/expect our first play to be an off tackle run directly at Gholston.

Skebba, by your logic and this guys quote, we're the most elite team in the B1G, and in the state of michigan for that matter.

  • Oh yeah? Well.....the Badgers are poking a sleep-eating T-Rex with a Sharktapus antler and that T-Rex is about to rise and shine to unload his clip . So don't add any foaming fuel to the Tiger fire.

  • I like me some Scott Tolzien.... But, Wilson is a different level of quarterback.

Wilson is the real deal. He's an elite QB.

    Wisconsin. Badgers.

  • Wilson has looked amazing, no doubt.

On the average, its been against bottom-half of the NCAA defenses, and at home. The Nebraska win was very, very impressive, no doubt. But Wisconsin has to show it can win on the road in big games (and quickly looking back of the the last few seasons, its something it hasn't done, especially in the first road game of the season, in some time) if it wants to be considered a top 5/'elite' team.

If the offense moves the ball against MSU like they have all year, then RW is worthy of some Heisman talk, no doubt. Do i think thats going to happen? No. Do i think RW is going to be shut down like Denard was? No. And while the offense has seriously upgraded, Wisconsin's defense is not up to snuff with where it was last year. How will that balance out on Saturday?

Either way, i think its going to be a great game. All taunting and joking aside, it can go either way. Predicting either team will win by 2+ scores is just asinine. Good luck on Saturday, and if any of you guys are coming to EL and need any advice, etc. im sure we'll be checking your board, or you are welcome to come over to tRCMB

I would actually say that the defense is better than last year. Losing Watt hurt but the D Line has been getting it done with its depth and the LB position is a huge upgrade from last year with Borland back and Taylor finally being fully recovered from his knee. Also there is the added experience in Henry at S where last year was his first year playing back there.

That's my issue with the Badger fans proclaiming 2+ TD Ws. The best scoring D they've faced is Nebraska's, and they're 58th. They haven't played a team that ranks in the Top 60 in total defense . MSU is #2.

I'm not saying that MSU will shut Wisconsin down, but I doubt Wisconsin scores 40+. It'll be strength against strength, which makes me think the game will be decided by MSU's O vs. Wisky's D. I bet MSU's D and Wisky's O cancel each other out.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

  • Can we please spare the arbitrary "dance of politeness"? I think I got a lifetime of it just from the buildup to the Nebraska game. Just say what you're trying to say.

At the very least, TeamCaptainJohn writes well enough that he can be polite and yet clearly provide his own opinions. To that effect, please spare us. You just had your first legitimate win of the year and you're passing judgement on the "eliteness" of the Wisconsin team because they have a back-loaded schedule? Sorry, but the Badgers ALREADY ARE a Top 5 team and Wilson ALREADY IS receiving much, much more than "some" Heisman talk. In addition, this Badger defense is better than last year's and the offense clearly speaks for itself.

You talk of winning "big time" games on the road, but after getting killed by Iowa in your only major road test of the year, how did your fanbase still have the audacity to whine and moan about who went to what bowl game? Hell, I still hear it even now after the Alabama game! The point of this isn't to try and rub salt in the wounds of the past, but to simply point to "do as you say". Speaking of saying things, as a highly rationale individual, TeamCaptainJohn should be on the actual MSU football squad - maybe then they wouldn't be running their mouths nonstop. Honestly, if UW did that type and much of trash talking, and had whined about MSU the entire previous year, you guys would be extremely pissed off too.

My honest prediction? I have two: IF Wisconsin overcomes the road/night game/adrenaline-influenced atmosphere, 38-21 WIsconsin. However, IF MSU capitalizes on the home/night game/"we must protect this house" mentality, 37-28 MSU.

Edit - SpartanRocky, my favorite Spartan, to the rescue! I will say though, staying on the theme of "critiquing an opponent for 'assumptions' when you yourself are assuming," do you really think it makes sense to try to weaken the credibility of Wisconsin's offensive strength when your own defense has played only a single opponent with a good offense? Come on.

  • Well, if we win MSU will say its because of the suspension of their DE. ESPN has officially picked up the story. The combo of footage, Mich, and some racial stuff means it won't go away. Someone will have to act, either MSU or Big 10.

Too bad, would like to beat you with a full squad.

  • Wisconsin hasn't seen a D like Michigan State.

Michigan State hasn't seen an O like Wisconsin (unbiased opinion).

This will be an outstanding game. I'm interested to see what happens when Wisconsin’s offense is stopped on consecutive drives. Honestly, Wisconsin has made it look too easy against less inferior opponents.. I’m interested to see what happens when they are faced with some adversity.

You mean the story that nothing has been decided yet? I just checked ESPN.

I'm not condoning what Gholston did, but it was flagged during the game and Gholston was not ejected. Keep in mind Lewan was holding him down, and I"m not going to speculate about what was said between the two. Whatever decision is made, I'll be ok with it.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I agree completely. MSU has seen a couple good Os, but obviously nothing at the level of Wisconsin.

From a purely competitive standpoint, I'll be disappointed if you guys play us without Gholston. I want your best and I want to give you our best.

If that doesn't imply that ESPN picked up a story that MSU had suspended Gholston, then you need to work on getting your message across. At the very least, it assumes that Gholston will be suspended.

No need for the personal attacks. I'm keeping this on football, so I'd appreciate the same conduct from you.

  • Gholston is going to be suspended tomorrow. There is simply no way around. Michigan St will likely suspend him for one game, and hope the Big 10 finds that suitable.

I understand things happen/are said on the field, and some players are unable to control their emotions which lead to punches being thrown. But that helmet rip on a player that was long down and pinned to the ground, clearly with no motivation other than to injure, was one of the most bush-league things I have seen on a football field.

You have the problem. Picking up the story means talking about it on PTI and other national ESPN platforms, not that they picked up the story that he is being suspended (that makes no sense). And yah, it does assume he will be suspended. That's called being a rational human being. You can't stonewall, or confuse with racial allegations, a story like this once it goes national. The images exist. They are what they are.

What's Dantonio going to be talking about tomorrow? The weather?

--The billboard calling out UW last season for being shunned by the Rose Bowl.

--The idiot DB calling out the Badgers after the Michigan game.

--The DC proud of his players playing "dirty" and getting away with it.

The last thing MSU should be doing right now is running their mouths.

They have provided more than enough bulletin board material for UW over the past year...and the last thing any team should be doing is adding fuel to the fire. You poke a sleeping tiger with a stick long enough and it is bound to wake up and start mauling.

    Well...rise and shine Bucky!

Coach Bielema and his crew are not stupid. They know exactly what MSU is doing and there is no way UW is going to be intimidated by the Spartans heading in to the game. The tiger has officially been awaken from its slumber.

Coach B is not afraid to make any team look stupid...and if you provide him the ammo....he is going to empty the clip.

Wisconsin lost a possible date in the MNC game last season due to a loss at MSU last year, so if the Spartans really think UW is going to be scared this weekend....they are in for a rude awakening. The Badgers have to be foaming at the mouth waiting for a shot at Sparty, and with Wilson poised to win the Heisman, I see the Badgers coming out ready to send a message that UW is for real...and sharks ALWAYS get their way when they smell blood in the water.

Needless to say, I absolutley cannot wait for kickoff! This is going to be a very long week.
