ESPN not liking Badgers' chances

  • Myron Medcalf of ESPN has the Badgers losing in Round 1 to the Grizzlies of Montana. Just curious to see how far other people see the Badgers going?

    Personally I see a 1-2 win tournament for the Badgers.

  • I don't like ESPN's chances of ever regaining my viewership for anything other than live events.

    I think they'll beat Montana and shut down Vandy's gaudy three point numbers for a Sweet 16 birth. The only way they beat Cuse is if they hit a lot of threes against that zone (don't count KSU out though, could see them upsetting Cuse).

  • I'm about to say something that probably shouldn't be said, but I've had enough. I knew Myron Medcalf and his brother personally while growing up and I followed his work a little bit when he was trying to make a name for himself. To make a long story short, he is the newest example of everything that is wrong with ESPN. He has absolutely no expertise on what he writes about, and even worse, he has undergone the ESPN brainwashing program and lost the little talent he once had in exchange for the same bullshit we've come to know and love about the network.

    I don't care if he predicted UW wouldn't even make the tournament, it's about principle. And I'm sorry to say, Myron, you have sold all of yours and your soul to finally make it at ESPN.

  • I still go to ESPN out of convenience and while it's frustrating at times, it is accessible 24/7 obviously. I simply started the thread to see how others felt about our chances this week/weekend

    @UWholzum12: I love your optimistic output and I really hope you're right. Vanderbilt has shown to be beatable throughout the year, and might be a tad overhyped after 1 big win (albeit against the consensus #1 nationally). I'm 50/50 on that game but would love a Sweet 16 appearance. After that you never know

  • Wisconsin is always the sexy pick to get upset in the first round. Montana is not that good from what I've seen. Not saying an upset can't happen, but the only reason everyone is picking them, it because they're playing Wisconsin.

  • What pisses me off about this is that one of these times we will lose and the will say "I told you so". While the informed person would say throw enough sh#t at a wall something will stick.

    i figure it is a coin flip as both teams have been inconsistent. I still think people are overselling vandy based on the SEC tourney. a tourney for a league that is very meh as a whole. Still we could beat anyone and we could lose to anyone. ask Iowa

    Vandy will not loose to Harvard. I have Vandy going to the Final 4 as well.

  • Vandy will be a very tough out for UW. Vandy had injuries earlier and is getting back to where a lot of people thought they would be at the start of the season I hope I am wrong. I would love for the Badgers to get hot.
