With rumors surfacing regarding a possible de-commitment from 4-star offensive tackle Kyle Dodson, Badger247 gives you the latest from Dodson's camp.

  • Good news. I don't understand the relevance of a national signing day in February of their senior years. Kids should be able to sign in say August prior to their Senior year.

I wouldn't be so sure about this. If he weren't going to flip, then why take an official visit? When he gets to Columbus this weekend and sees all the other kids visiting, he is going to want to be a part of it. And you saw how quickly he got that official scheduled after Urban came calling. The class is going to fill up fast. I gotta say, I think your insider is going to eat his words.

  • I like how that whole article is full of commentary, then at the end he writes, "My commentary"...

We have it up as well.

  • If he goes...he goes. A verbal commitment means nothing anymore, unfortunately. I just don't understand why an o-lineman would ever not want to come hone their craft under the best o-line coach in the country.

Kyle, you are staff, have you talked to him much do you think he will flip? I'm being serious I don't know much on this kid.

Honestly, I still don't understand this recruiting style. Apparently Tressel did things very differently in terms of offers/visits ect.

Personally I think many of our fans are so used to kids taking officals to OSU and committing due to the lower volume there were in Tressel regime. They may need to curb their expectations with all these new faces wanting to visit. I personally don't think official visit in the meyer regime means the same as it did when Tress was running things... but what do I know.

  • To be completely honest, after hearing the quotes from Kyle, it seems more likely that he'll switch. Initially, a week ago, I thought he was all Wisconsin.

I was blindsided by his quotes (about him wavering), because an extremely reliable source told me he could assure us that Dodson would be a Badger.

Honestly, it shows you the difficultly of this business.

That said, as my mentor Steve Wiltfong told me, "actions speak louder than words."

Based on his actions, it's pretty evident what's going on.

  • How many spots does OSU have left? I doubt the NCAA is going to accept their 5 scholarship reduction in total for 3 years. I could see them double it to 10 or even 15. That could throw a rinkle into Urban's plans. Hopefully the NCAA releases their decision in the next few days.

  • The NCAA and fast are not synonymous. especially when a blue blood is involved
