As a Nebraska fan, I was hoping you'd get a shot at Bama in '11 with Wilson and was bummed when the season stalled.
Barry ain't messin around. Good for him.

This is very cool. I have been waiting a long time for the UW to step up like this. If we want to become known as a great program, then we have to play in these games and be able to compete in these games. There is no other way. Plus, this is a marquee game and it will help recruiting.
Interesting that Alabama's AD stepped down today effectively immediately due to health reasons.
This will be what makes or breaks the view of Anderson as a coach at Wisconsin. Right now all we can go on is recruiting and its going to take a year or two to get his system in here so the timing of this game is perfect. Can't wait!
If the season didn't stall, we would've played LSU. They were undefeated and had beaten Alabama.
I hate to say it but I've always thought LSU (or Bama if they would have won the first match up with LSU) would have kicked our @sses that year. Our offense was dynamic but our defense was too weak. If we would have had the 2011 offense coupled with last year's defense, I think we would have made the national championship game and at least been competitive.
Absolutely love the fact that we got the deal done w/ Bama. We need to do this to take the program to the next level. Like Boise State does every year. Play a big time program each year. Oregon, OSU, Texas, Texas A&M, even stupid Arkansas has done it.
GA taking charge, we'll be more aggressive and hopefully finally have the athletes to compete with the Bama's of the world. Not looking forward to being 3 years older at that time (game day is the day before my b-day) so I'll enjoy the build up and when it comes it comes...haha.

Switching to the 3-4 defense will emensely help the offense for qhen they play alabama. Not saying our d will b like theirs but it will help.
Gary and Co. Now have 2 years to sell to recruits that we will be on the opening stage for college football.
If the game was being played this year, I'd watch with both hands covering my face and peeking through my fingers. In two years? Not sure. Eventually, top recruits will want to be part of the team that dethrones Alabama. I'm not saying they'll commit to UW but to other schools which will weaken the depth of Alabama. By then, hopefully, UW will have upgraded their athleticism and speed and the new systems will be effective. I'm excited about this announcement but with some trepidation as well.
I have no trepidations. Its one game. So what if we lose? Its a non conference game, so if we lose it doesn't take us out of the conference championship picture. At least we have the stones to schedule them. Getting creamed by Alabama won't lower the national perception of the program. If you win though then people really start to take notice around the nation.
I am shocked people would look at it as getting crushed frankly. We are just the type of program that will compete with anyone.
My guess a Vegas line in a game like this on a neutral site would be 6 points or less. this could be that step we need to make.
Not scared of failure here!
The Bigeddysprings is not a horse.
Amen Big Eddy, just imagine going into spring ball knowing you're playing Bama in the Jerry Dome in 6 mos......brings a little more intensity to spring and summer workouts rather then getting ready for Wofford....
Last year the Bama-Michy line started at 7.5 and SEC money pounded it all the way up to 14 on gameday.
Michigan was #8 at the time.
No way we get that kind of respect unless we finish w/ 1 or 2 losses this year.
Except we don't even play them NEXT year... This is crazy talk people.
