No matter what your opinion of Bret Bielema may be, you can tell that he cares.
Again, everyone has their opinion, but that video tells you all you need to know regarding his love for his players.

Samesies! About the punt on the 30 yard line. I don't hate it, but that was just an awful punt. How on earth do you kick it that deep in the endzone?
Anyone know what Bielema's record is in games decided by 4 points? He just seems out of his element in close games. No doubt, he does care about his players.
I wish Canada would get it together for a full game. Brilliant one drive, awful the next. That play to watt was genius. The predictability for most of the game, not so much.
1-5 in the last two seasons in conference
"We don't care about anything but winning. No one cares about ethical standards thats for losers..."
Thanks, Klobe! I figured it would be a losing record.
Agree. Canada has shown flashes. It seems like he has a few new wrinkles each game, but uses them all within the first two or three drives... Then the offense goes stale. The playbook doesn't seem very deep.
My only major complaint: Where are the screens and the draws?
This season must be really tough on Bielema. Trainwreck from the second game on and so close to a very good season. Can't help but feel that the Big Ten Championship Game could be another agonizing loss.
Agreed, when was the last time they called a screen to White?
2nd and 4 and don't convert in OT. You have 3 plays to get 4 yds. Even with 8 in the box expecting run, you should be able to get the 4 yds. The pass on 2nd down was the killer. The staff seems to excel in blowouts, in close games they tighten up.
Finally, last year Montee had numerous big catches out of the backfield. Why not some swing pass to the outside, get him in space as well.

One would think when you have one of the more mobile lines in the country, three playmaking running backs, and a generally sub-par passing game, you'd occasionally run a screen. The tight end screen, in particular, was one of my more favorite PC wrinkles...
They ran the tight end middle screen with Owen Daniels quite a bit. Garrett Graham too. Was usually successful too.
Possible they practiced it and were not comfortable that they could be successful with it in the game.
Not sure I agree with your rosey assessment of the coach's emotional state, Kyle. You can call it 'love for his players' if you'd like, but it looked more like barely contained fury and tearful self-pity to me. Is Bielma like this after every loss? Frankly, he appears emotionally unstable.
'We are attacking that like animals right now.'
Please, I would love more insight like this from you.
