“Wisconsin plays hard-nosed football. I love run blocking. So you put two and two together. They expect to win. I relate well with the coaching recruiting me for them (Chad Kauha'aha'a) as we are both Polynesian,” - Damien Mama, 4-star OL, John Bosco
Interesting dynamics there. Pull for Gordon to put up monster numbers from here on out and get a high draft grade so he leaves after this year to have a better chance w/ Mixon?
Or pull for the staff to continue to do a rbbc w/ Gordon putting up good but not great numbers w/ the hopes he then returns for his junior year.
Regardless, w/ Mixon and Mama in attendance for NW I hope we run for 500+ yards
Sorry, but I'd rather take the sure thing as opposed to Mixon.
Gordon is a pretty damn good back, and I know MIxon has a 99% of being a sure thing. However, we've all seen things of sure things fall through. I think we still have a shot to pull him even with Gordon taking off as he'd have a shot to be 1b with Gordon.
I love what Mama said, but I don't know that we get him unless we see Mixon tag along for the ride. It's going to be difficult to pull a kid out of Cali who has "distance issues"
If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
Getting excited at the thought of Mixon running behind our line with Mama at one of the two vacated guards position with Kamara and Brown at WR next year. All four of those have a legitimate opportunity to start next year. With Gordon and White looking NFL bound and our only WR going pro and the senior OL as well all three of those spots are wide open. What a difference that'd be.
On an island, sure, take Gordon over Mixon. All things considered though, pulling a 5-star RB from CAL puts the school and the staff on the map in a huge way that would create momentum for years to come. Not to mention, you're choosing one year of MG over 2-3 of Mixon.
So the big question here: Do you want Gordon for 1-2 more years, or Mixon for 3-4?

Recruits are never a sure-thing; I would much rather keep Gordon in the fold than land Mixon IF thats the real choice.
I'd imagine the staff will sell Mixon on the fact that Wisconsin has had a successful three-headed monster for several years at RB, he will get plenty of reps.
