I agree. We should get a way back machine and travel to the glory days of the conference in 1972 when your school and that one up north were all that mattered. Then the rest of us scrubs can go back to being the little 8 like your boards have been predicting/hoping for years. Good thing Ohio and Michigan are states with booming population and economic growth or the conference could be passed up by southern schools.
You also don't seem to understand how cable contracts work.
"We don't care about anything but winning. No one cares about ethical standards thats for losers..."
BUCKNUTS 21 self trolling.
This may be a dumb question, but does the east coast have the Big 10 Network already?
If you get the sports package you can get it on most. If you get Fios it comes on basic.
They have it available for the most part. Until now, they never had a reason to subscribe.
The biz case is that this will drive subscriptions/local deals to carry BTN.
The core issue on re-alignment: do you move now to pick AAU schools in markets that are attractive (NY/NJ and Balt/DC) or wait until your scrambling for leftovers when someone else does.
You have to pick from this list: https://www.aau.edu/about/article.aspx?id=5476 (Nebrasa aside, who I believe lost their membership during the expansion process somehow).
Who else would you pick that (a) are realistically going to move and (b) bring you a plus in the marketplace?
My guess: we add Ga Tech and UNC and call it a day.
Good luck trying to get UNC away from the ACC for basketball. UNC keeps the NCAA and ACC's ball in their purse, they have complete control (see basketball scandal that led nowhere). It'd be the equivalent of Ohio State or Michigan breaking away. They might not always be good, but the Big10 is always going to be all over their nuts and give them top billing because of "tradition". It's BS, but it's what makes money.
If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
That scandal is still very much afloat--the whistleblower went public last week, and the local press is all over it. Don't think this goes away.
Really? Do you mind providing a link to it, definitely want to read into that more.
Found it, if anyone is interested
