probably somewhat skewed based on a couple teams we played, but still ASU brings that up a bit. Us, Washington St., and OU. Guessing we may give one up this weekend though.
I don't think our secondary is that bad. I always thought the issue it was overblown anyway.
I'm excited though. OSU is the media darling, but I truly feel we can match up to them and I do not think the talent gap is that wide. If we can win the turnover battle I think we'll be set up very well to beat Ohio State this Saturday night.
If you really look at it, I think Wisconsin has a very solid case to be made that they are better at several areas compared to OSU.
O-Line would be a wash to me
D-Line is heavily in UW's favor
LB corp is definitely in UW's favor
Secondary IDK, other than Roby I think OSU's DBs are very average. UW's are young
RBs definitely are better than OSU's, although OSU's aren't bad
TEs I think UW is probably better at
Only positions that OSU clearly is better than is QB and WR depth. Obviously QB is a major component to the team, but as we saw last a year a worse defense almost completely shut down Miller.
There is the one thing however. I don't know who OSU's FG Kicker is but he likely is better than what UW has.
Maybe I'm a fool, but I think all this talent gap talk and all that is just media fueled BS. I absolutely think our team is more than capable of beating OSU. Obviously its a tough game, but let's not act like OSU this year is some sort of godlike team.
I would rather face Miller than the other guy... what it all comes down too is QB play and turnovers... If Stave can make some throws watch out
Gotta take off the rose colored glasses man, we are not that big of an advantage talent wise. While I agree OL is a wash, their D-Line has some scary talent, albeit young. We're going to have to be ready for them, I'd put it as a wash. LB is a wash if not in their favor. Shakier is on line with Borland. While they might only have Roby on the outside, they really only need to lockdown one guy for us. I'd take Gordon in a heartbeat, but we are going to have to play mistake free football to beat this team. We've got a good team no doubt, but we certainly don't have better talent than OSU like in the past few years of this matchup.
If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
I agree they have some talent, but I disagree, I do not think their front 7 is very good. With time they might eventually be good, but the fact is they are breaking in 6 of 7 new starters on the D-Line.
If Buffalo could put up 20 (and they botched 2 other goal-line possessions, coulda had 2 more TDs), and Cal can put up 34, I think UW is more than capable of putting 30+ up on Ohio State.
Partly due to last year, but I think our D is also more than capable of slowing down OSU.
Obviously we must play well, but considering the past 2 years it came down to the last play and for the most part of recent history the games have been extremely close, I see no reason why UW can't win. But hey, the media loves the OSU Kool Aid so I'm sure everyone will be sucking their d*cks all week like usual.
I guess I just think we are a physically tougher team, and mentally tougher. You gotta respect this senior class.
OSU is a finess team, but I think they are a flawed team that can be beaten and will be beaten. I predicted them to lose a game or two this year and I see no reason why to change. If Buffalo can play with OSU at the Shoe, UW should certainly be able to as well.
Wow if this isn't a homer post!!!...
