What the fvck!

Seriously, how expensive are those apartments going to be? Don't want a bunch of coasties who don't know what Wisconsin football is to clog up the area all around the stadium. What a crock of sh!t. Trying to take away Wisconsin football spirit trying to make a few bucks.
Probably a group of Gopher alums trying to destroy our superior pre-game traditions... Either way, deeply depressing. Hopefully enough people put up a fuss at the meeting on Thursday to make it a nightmare for them, although we all know what the city wants in this case.
"From the GM of Stadium himself: 'To all the people who are thinking The Stadium Bar closing is official please step back from the ledge. Things are not close yet and many obstacles still loom before any plans could go through. This is in no way a done deal.'"
This is from a facebook post in reply to the article, so I have no idea about the source or credibility of the poster. Either way, if the city/neighborhood sees a high-rise apartment as a better use than a bar (which they obviously will), there isn't much he/she can do to stop it.

lol...what specifically is a "coastie?"
It's too far away from downtown for the coasties, isn't it?
I suppose if they're adventurous, you'd think anything west of Grand Central is out of the question for most, though.
I believe, historically, it was something of an anti-Semitic 'slur' for Jewish students from the Northeast.
Now, though, it's more of a friendly or self-deprecating stereotype for Northeastern students. The following video should help educate you.(pnsfw but probably worth it)
Wow, that guy had a lot of time on his hands...but hilarious. "Fine, but we're leaving right after the Jump Around."

Dude. Jingles (RIP the ol' SOB) sold out in '99. After that, it was never the same anyway.
