I think it is safe to say the Miller transition has been a success. What may be the biggest win in that situation is recruiting. Another yound guy with some fire. Can't wait to see how that plays out.
Agreed Dustelli. I hope BB decides to keep him. The turnaround since week 2 is really quite amazing, and the players seem to respond very well to Miller. I would be disappointed if they give the job to someone else.
You would have to think keeping him is close to 100%. How long is the better question.
I want to see how he does in a big game like Saturday. I want to see if he can make the right adjustments if something isn't working.
i think more than 60% lies on Canada. if they have trouble on the edges the quickest fix is play calling. This game won't be about scoring, but more sustaining drives. Stop dropping back and hoping to throw it up for grabs. If they play aggressive on D kill them with the counter and screen game. Mix in some draw plays. If the play gap control wear them out.
We tried running on the edges in the beginning of the year and it wasn't as affective as it is now. This team relies on the o line. The o line is the heart of this team. That's why if Miller and his boys can control the LOS this game is a WIN.
I feel the OL will be solid, but not great. Unfortunately I think the key will be Stave. MSU is going to bring pressure all night and they're going to bring more than we can block. Stave is going to have to make quick reads and get the ball out of his hands even quicker - not his strength.
I would have to think if he is given the OL coaching position, he will be very happy for a number of years. He's only 27 (I think), with very limited experience to date, so he will need some time to develop before he is an attractive candidate for a higher position. Just my opinion, but I see him sticking around for another 5 years or so.
that is until Chryst comes after him.
I think that Utah State, Nebraska, and Oregon State were the 3 best defenses we've played. Purdue, Illinois, and Minnesota all seem pretty miserable on defense. As said above, I'm encouraged, but I'll truly believe if we can get 150+ rushing yards tomorrow.
