Granted this is a rumor with nothing substantial behind it! But that is the rumor I am hearing on 1250 AM Milwaukee. this is not fact....yet.
god damn I'm gonna hate all this crap. The rumor was someone who called in saying their friend saw him or something like that. Also Barry isn't even in Madison and I'm pretty sure isn't on his way there either.
I think I saw Mila Kunis today... She's probably going to be my new girlfriend.
I been on record saying there in no chance Petersen comes to Madison, and I'll stick by that until proven wrong. That being said, I don't think there is anyone more perfect for the job if we don't go with a familiar face. Just don't see it.

Sorry, bro. Wolfie
If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
Is anyone else thinking Peterson wouldn't be a good fit for us? I'm guessing he would want to bring the spread offense with him? I just think it would be too hard to recruit for that type of offense at UW. Plus, I just don't know if he would look at UW as a stepping stone to another job. I have major reservations with this one.
Peterson doesn't need a stepping stone. His resume is good enough to land pretty much any job that opens up.
This is my problem with Peterson. The recruits are told about how UW got to where they are at today by playing Wisconsin football. Now if they would get him, what do you say, nevermind what we said? Keep it the same way and don't try and reinvent the wheel.
I think the anti-Petersen argument is hilarious. I've spent the whole season hearing everyone complain about the lack of creativity in Canada, not being aggressively going for 2 in regulation, etc. And heard the same thing about Chryst for years. Petersen would solve all those problems. He's a great offensive mind- he'd adapt to the UW style. The reason he runs the spread at Boise is necessity - hes not recruiting 330 lb lineman like he could in Madison. And last time I checked he coached Doug Martin into a helluva back who's tearing up the NFL.
I'd be willing to roll the dice on the big hire that would make waves and trust the guy with the .900 career winning % to figure it out.
Agreed Wrigley... UW was practically a spread team this year 50% of the time. I'm sure Petersen would continue with his current offense but include the traditional Wisconsin power running into the equation.
Recruits and current players would go crazy for the idea of playing for Petersen in a place outside of the MWC and what is to be left of the Big East.
Petersen doesn't run a spread. It's west coast. Same way Bevell is using Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson now.
