I would say that outside of purdue no one has really shutdown Miller.
Even the msu game he had 136 yards rushing... we moved the ball well just didn't score much.
He did have an injury at the purdue game, but I was there and he did not have a great game even before the injury. He only had 47 yards rushing and 1 rush was for 37 yards.
He "only" had 75 yards rushing against illinois, but that was more a product of Hyde having a monster game.
Also, he seems to play his best games against the top opponents (not good for wisconsin). His 3 best games have been at psu, nebraska and indiana (wierd game).
Another thing that is odd about this year is The Buckeyes start out mind-numbling slow. 1st quarter they have sucked. 2nd quarter so-so and then 3rd quarter they have played lights out.
My guess is they will want to get Miller in space to start the game that will open things up for the reat of the offense. We will see.

J.J. Watt is an absolute stud beast!!
He was a huge huge reason for that last victory in Camp Randall against the Buckeyes and Pryor....
He absolutely had Pryor's number on that night that's for damn sure.
That's what scares me. We have no one on his level or close to that IMO. David Gilbert and Kelly are our fastest ends but they aren't Watt. Our LB are our hope, but I still see Braxton breaking free for a big one or two.
If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
...What? Yes, sometimes we do. Other times they phase out of existence and our students have to kinda just chill until they reform in our dimensional plane.
By the by, where have the posters like tbd, bear and georgem been? This actually has turned into a pre-game thread. Thanks fellas.
41-21 Buckeyes. I'm not being a homer, but I think we're the superior team. Add in the fact were rested up, have had 2 weeks to prepare, and Urb being extra motivated to send a message, with him not liking BB. We're going to score points. I just think with us getting bino back, and our DL skill and depth, we will load the box and shut down the run. I don't think your QB can beat us through the air, our corners have played lights out this year.
So there's a lot of talk about Ohio State being irrelevant. Well, let's think about that. Were the Buckeyes irrelevant the last 5 times you guys played them? Where in 4 of those 5 games they, um, won? Guys, this is a rivalry game. No doubt. You guys get under our skin. We get under yours. But it would be a better rivalry if, you know, Bucky's bunch won the game more than once out of every 5 years. You've beat the Buckeyes twice in 10 years when they were ranked #1. Good for you. I'm sure that felt good. But two wins a rivalry does not make. We can't beat you when you're ranked #1 b/c, well, you're never ranked #1. So think about this, ban me, call me really funny names. But go to bed knowing these are facts. And that tomorrow will only be another notch in the Buckeyes belt for this "rivalry." Best to you all.
Hahaha this man is why everyone hates OSU fans. Congrats on being a tool.
Science H. Logic
Seriously what happened to the state of Ohio? Did you all have restricted air flow in the birthing canal? I get it. Ohio Stateis good at football but come on! You guys aren't God's gift to sports.
They have the Bengals, Browns, Cavs, and Indians what else are they supposed to watch?
I wish I was going to be there. I love going to games in madison. I just couldn't get things worked out. Oh well. I love going to 3:30 games, I hate waiting for 3:30 games on TV.
I don't think Ohio State has seen a defensive as good as wisconsin. The wisc D is playing really well. However, I also don't think that wisconsin has seen someone like Miller.
I KNOW wisconsin is going to be so freaking fired up for this game.
What worries me the most is that Ohio State has started out so slow every game. If wisconsin goes out on fire and builds a decent lead, with your great defense, that will put The Buckeyes in a tough position.
Miller is the key (as always) for The Buckeyes.
We're hated b/c we lean on facts when conversing with the other team's fan base? Sorry man. My bad.
You guy's are one dimensional stop Ball and Wiconsin is dead in the water. Your D can't stop OSU's O . So lets be real clear this will be the last B1G title you'll back into for a long time to come. Don't think there won't be a message sent by Urban Meyer tomorrow and the Buckeye's. Your coach is the biggest cry baby in the B1G and the crap he spewed out of his pie hole last year will be coming back to haunt him by Urban for years. Yours is coming and you are going to take beating by us and there is nothing you can do about it tomorrow so sleep well you'll be getting a taste of humility in less than 24 hrs. Penn State thought they had a shot to before they were crushed by us you guy's talk more than they do.
Killing SCUM just to watch it die!!!!....."De Oppresso Libre"
Ohio used to be a great state. Unfortunately, any large settlement of people is becoming, well, Cleveland. Once all the small rural towns that don't qualify as a set for "Deliverance" become suburbs, we'll just be New Jersey. Except with guns. Lots of them. Fun times! BTW it's just precious listening to the Kentucky-air affected sports fans in southwestern Ohio refer to the local NFL psuedo-team as the "Bangles." But at least the Bangles do win sometimes. But then, it's not Saturday football so who the hell cares?
Can you guys get the Brewers to hire Dusty Baker away from Cincinnati? Pwetty pwease?
But the Buckeyes will still beat the Badgers!
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.
And apparently some of us have apostrophe trouble too.
(hanging head in shame)
Well if you say so. Your logic is pretty foolproof, but I'm going to say its a little more complicate than that.
I feel better about this game than any other game we played this year. A very angry Buckeye team is coming your way!!!!! And I'm telling you this is going to get ugly for Bucky Badger. Do you guy's think you could win a BCS game before you try to claim top tier status of he B1G? C'mon Man
well...we use to have..lebron? lol!
Oh man you're not kidding there....
Freakin' Art Modell screwed up Cleveland....
Paul Brown is probably rolling around in his grave over what his son has done to the Bengal's franchise....
Cleveland fans can't seem to let go of the fact that Lebron gave them 7 good years of basketball....and when he saw the writing on the wall that the franchise wasn't super invested in putting together a complete championship team....but hey...I'm not much of a NBA person but if I was and I was a Cleveland Cavs fan I'd probably be pretty salty and bent out of shape about it as well.....
So yeah....the Bucks pretty much carry the torch as far as nationally respected/competitive sports goes....that and tOSU basketball and UC basketball when Huggins was there (and now they have a decent football team)...
But other than that.....(insert sound made when giving someone the raspberry......don't quite know how to type it).
I can understand....
Feel the same way when we play guys like Martinez and even DRob......especially after we lost Cam Heyward.
But there's always the hope that one of the young guys will step up and emerge.....have a break through on a big game....
I honestly don't know how to defend Braxton other than spy him....I know that's how I'd try to defend him. I'd put my two fastest, most physical players....1 on Braxton and 1 on Hyde or whoever is our RB.....and cover them man to man.
Pryor was blazing straight away fast....he got those long strides going and if he got a big opening or an angle he would hurt you...he was strong as well with those RB type of Ron Dayne, Beanie Wells, Jon Clay stiff arms.....
But IMO Miller is more dangerous because he is more elusive and quick on his feet. That IMO is also what gives him more of an ability to extend the play longer than what Pryor was able to do....
If you guys can limit our running game.....you have an excellent chance at a victory tonight as we don't have a truly dependable WR corp as of yet. We have some great receivers....but don't have the consistency we need from them yet to be a constant threat.
You're welcome.....I enjoy talking football....and I love good natured ribbing here and there as well.
To laugh with others you must truly be able to laugh at yourself......
We have a board on our site titled 'The yearly Wiscy Board Ban' started by Chad L.....man is it hilarious....
Pretty good exchanges between some of those guys....and I think by one of your guys that goes by spread tree....
very good funny $hit!!!
I'm not that clever so by the time I come up with anything good it's usually too late.... LOL!!
Yeah I have to agree...
If we start out slow and the Badgers can build even a lead of a TD and field goal...say 10 points....
I feel it's going to be a tough day for us. As much as I hate to say it...we pretty much are Miller and Hyde....without consistent play from our receivers.
If our D can be ball hawking....and generate some takeaways...that will help us out a lot.
This is the toughest defense we've faced yet....MSU was good but I think this was is as good. Nebraska statistically is better on the defensive side than the Badgers but.....I don't think we truly faced their best defensive performance this year.
Indiana is a fast paced spread option team....and the Badgers shut them down. We however....did not shut them down. Not that you can guess outcomes simply by what other teams have done in those games.....but sometimes it can be a good thermometer.
Very impressed with the Buckeye fans this year. You guys have been good natured and even the junk talking has been pleasant, while also incredibly funny. A tip of the hat to you all and I look forward to a great game.
Sorry but I don't see this game being close... Yea Wisconsin is playing well but how hard is it to play well against Indiana? They have the worst defense of all time, smh.. I just don't see how you can lose to Sparty at home but then expect to beat OSU. I see OSU going up and down the field in this one. No one has slowed down our running game and offense as a whole and I don't see Wisconsin being able to do it either. PSU and Sparty did a solid job for the most part but even they couldn't get it done.
I'm not one to get into the "atmosphere" and environment... I don't care about the crowd and the stadium. I think that hypes up road team sometimes. Once you get a few first downs and get settled, that stuff doesn't matter. The "White Out" in Happy Valley was supposed to overwhelm this team especially with Miller coming off that injury but it made no difference. We wore them down and just dominated the game.
Every good or decent team Wisconsin played this season, they've lost too... Oregon State, Nebraska, Michigan State. I just don't see them having the QB to be able to beat this team either. QB's dominate college football and thats why we are the best team in the conference right now. We have the best QB and the best team around him. I predicted a 12-0 season for the simple fact that Wiscy and Sparty both lost too much on offense (SR QB's, WR's) and would struggle to replace those guys. I thought both would be a little better than what they've been this year but it's hard replacing SR QBs who won you 10 games.
Ball is a very good back, can't wait to see him running on Sundays but its hard to get it done when you don't have any balance. I don't care how good the OL is... They can't block 8 in the box. Phillips will have to be a stud and I have no confidence in that happening, although I have seen QB's who no one has ever heard of come alive against this team. With that said, our defense is hitting stride and I can see them shutting Wiscy down completely. The light bulb came on a few weeks ago against Purdue. After the first play of the game this defense has been lights out. Wisconsin's only hope is big special teams plays and turnovers. If they can pop a ball loose here or there I think it could be a close game.
