This might take the cake. This isn't the Basketball team after all, I can't believe people actually say crap like this.
I was viewing the DJ Gillins ask.fm thread off of his twitter page. In case you aren't familiar with it, it's basically an open forum for fans to anonymously ask questions to recruits and the recruit can answer all these questions.
Everything seemed fine until somebody posted the question as follows..
Does it scare you that Wisconsin doesnt have to many black guys on the team?
If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
Saw that as well. Last I looked we have a pretty diverse team.
Are those questions filtered at all? Does someone read them before being posted? Just seems dumb. But I do like his answers to some questions.
That's so sad that people are going to these lengths with these kids.
This is a bit concerning:
"Who do you see making your path to a successful four years harder: Kafentzis or Wade?
Probably Kafentzis "
Some people like competition, pushes them even harder. Hard to tell if he likes it though. I would personally love to beat out the better qb. Just shows how good you really are.
On the bright side, at least it shows he has done enough homework on Wisconsin to know who Kafentzis is. If he actually researches and compares the two programs, then the only reasons we would lose him are because of things outside of our staff's control.
Agreed. Also, in the follow ups, he said he doesn't mind the competition. I guess this whole thing depends on how much emphasis he puts on early PT.
I doubt Boston College is more diverse and Boston, right or wrong, has a history of being viewed as a racist city, specifically against black people.
I'm sure it's not any more diverse. And his comments indicate that he doesn't care much about the issue.

Well, when all else fails play the race card.
I'm sure Craig Evans has been getting an earful about this topic from the recruits at MSU.
Except Craig is very familiar with Madison and knows he's comfortable there.
Surprised he seemed not aware of upcoming games w Bama and LSU. or our NFL draft record.
Also, someone else pointed out he'd be on campus a year before AK. He'd have a year to solidify himself in the system.
Those were painful to read.
Science H. Logic
Reading the tea leaves with his comment on Kafentzis, I wonder if that might be a good sign for Wisconsin. If he were planning to be Wade's teammate it would be a little uncomfortable to be out there saying that another guy poses a bigger challenge to winning the position - he'd have little trouble beating out Wade. Maybe that means he's coming to Wisconsin? Ridiculous speculation but that was what crossed my mind when I saw that.
This topic is so dumb, no offense to anyone in the thread though. Besides our lineman, are we really that "white?"
Who cares who we have on the roster, we've won 3 Big Ten Championships....straight. It's simple, Gillins isn't making or breaking us. If you don't want to win, go to BC, we'll find someone who wants to win. This recruitment has become a giant circus.
Umm what? Are you serious? This definitely has not become a circus. In fact, he has always sounded very articulate and as though he has done a lot of homework on the schools. There is a good chance he chooses Wisconsin. I'm not sure how you got that this is becoming a circus. If you are worried about losing a recruit, you really shouldn't be commenting in the thread. Most people have been super excited by how things have been progressing.
Have you seen Twitter?
Yea? What about it? Thats how things are these days. Would you rather announce something on twitter once and hang out with buddies, or would you rather text 40 reporters answering the same questions all night. It's a great resource for recruits to familiarize themselves with the fans and the school as well.
Gillins is the only recruit I've seen spending hours straight on Twitter answering fan questions and hyping this thing up. Nice exaggeration though.
