He has become my new favorite :
Matt Campbell, head coach, Toledo – At 32 years old, Campbell is college football’s youngest coach. The Ohio native has been on a fast track through the coaching ranks, as he started his career as a graduate assistant with Bowling Green in 2003 and has made stops at Mount Union and as an offensive assistant under Tim Beckman at Toledo. Campbell is 10-3 in his career as the Rockets’ head coach. Although Campbell is young, he is ready to lead a BCS program. Considering he played at the very successful Mount Union program and has done well in a short amount of time at Toledo, Campbell would be a solid hire for Wisconsin.
Best yet....he didn't deny anything....deflected and said he is focused on the Bowl game. I like guys who don't live in denial.
Man is he young. That's crazy young to be a BCS head coach. If they hire him Barry could make a case for just about any other assistant coach across the country.
I mentioned this before, he was on my initial "Big Board."
Haven't heard much since then...other than the WSJ report of Barry interviewing him in Toledo (OH).
Great young coach. And, he can recruit.
Campbell is my favorite as well!
At this point I don't care who we hire As long as we can keep our assistant coaches. But Campbell once was an oline coach so maybe he can keep the tradition going.
I put good odds on this one. Great recruiter too.
He runs a spread. Pass.
So what? Seriously - there are spread components to every offense. If he would be the "chosen one." I am sure he could get an OC to run the prostyle.
This Video put him up there for me as a guy who has a high Ceiling...
If it is him, we should find out Saturday/Sunday after the bowl game. I think we'd be able to keep our assistants on board for two more days.
1 year HOT HOT MACCC Wonder kid having never coached at a BCS program in anyway? Sign me up.
"We don't care about anything but winning. No one cares about ethical standards thats for losers..."
BUCKNUTS 21 self trolling.
When Illinois hired Tim Beckman last year the Toledo faithful laughed as they all knew that Campbell was the brains behind the operation.

Coach speak doesn't impress me. Look I won't sell this guy short because I admit I don't know enough about him. However I doubt BA does either. At least not enough to turn over the whole program to him.
