This whole process just doesn't sit well with me. I just have a ton of respect for programs that don't consider commitments from players as long as they're visiting other schools. Sure, that's a lot easier for a team with a brand name like Michigan as opposed to Wisconsin. And yes, maybe that would hurt us with players with wandering eyes like Panos and Gault on occasion...or at least take longer into the season for us to fill our classes. But in my opinion, it would give our process so much more integrity. I'm not at all saying these guys shouldn't take their officials...they just shouldn't give us a commitment until they're comfortable enough in their decision that they won't actively look elsewhere. Even a team like Northwestern has adopted this policy, and I think everyone would agree their recruiting hasn't come close to taking a hit in recent years.
But what do I know? I'm admittedly pretty stubborn...and if this situation translated to the dating world, I'd kick this chick to the curb. And unfortunately, if she were out of my league, maybe I'd be missing out on something special.
That being said, I don't accept that to be the case here. I'm a Badger for life, and I honestly don't accept the notion that any of these players are out of our league.
Hogs fan here I just don't seem him wanting to choose us, of course I am one fan.
And believe me we know what it's like to lose players it sucks.
I wonder on a somewhat different yet related topic... how many here think it would be better if kids could only do like 3 visits or something?
5 just seems kind of absurd I guess, a lot of wine and dining and it has been noted before many kids already know where the hell they are going but just enjoy all the special treatment.
Maybe I am just being sour, like anyone would when good players leave.
I'm not one of the negative types was just chatting.
PS - Mullins Cheese Factory is amazing and no I am not making a joke. One of my fondest memories from a business trip to Wausau!!! (I love cheese)

I don't have a problem with the process. It does suck when your commits take visits but that is how it goes sometimes. We also have guys visit us that are already committed to other schools.
