I don't think I disagree with the other coach all that much.
I think Seth Davis made this up. There is no way any Big 10 coach could be so far off on player evaluations...
Taylor is an All-Big 10 defender and Bruesewitz is probably the most disappointing player on the team this year.
Has to be. Although they swept UW this year so maybe not.
Whoever it was doesn't have much credibility though. First, Steph Curry had a miraculous March (ask almighty Kansas) so that had everything to do with UW losing. Second, Bruiser having a "fabulous season"? This guy must not have had more than one game on film.
At the end of the day, it just doesn't bother me anymore and I guarantee it doesn't bother Bo either. UW doesn't just beat you when they do, they demoralize you which can make some bitter.

Only thing I have a problem with is this line "refs outside the Big Ten don't fall for that". Shouldn't it be the other way around, if true? That the Big 10 refs know what the Badgers do, so they don't call it but in the tournament, with new refs, the refs call it because they don't know what the Badgers do?
Seems to me the coach is insinuating that the refs are in cahoots with the badgers. That the refs know they are flopping and let them, but other refs don't know so they don't call it?
Doesn't make sense either way, imo.
It says it could be assistants, which pretty much makes it worthless.

I definitely thought Izzo.
I would guess Tubby. I don't know what Izzo's motivation would be to do this. Tubby or McCaffrey want to out recruit us. And Tubby was particularly steamed after the last game.
I would have to guess Tubby or Crean.
Science H. Logic
Taylor hasn't been that great on defense the last few years.
wonder if he was sitting on a phone book during the interview with his box of kleenex nearby.
This is exactly how Izzo speaks about us though. Every time UW beats MSU it's completely because of the refs and how we flop on every play, it's never becuase of actual talent or skill... I'd buy that he legitimately does not respect UW basketball.
I think Crean and Tubby, and really every other coach in the conference at least has respect for Bo's program.
Considering Tubby is on his last legs I would think sending a few shots at us would help endear him a bit more to Goopher Nation.
My guess is an assistant, i don't think there's anyway a head coach would be this straight forward and brazen with a reporter, even if it was anonymously.
What bothers me the most about the article has nothing to do with what was said, it's that it was written by Seth Davis. I swear to God, every time I see his Joker-grinning face I want to take a bat to it. He's as stupid, uninformed and talentless as they come in the business and yet he is allowed to say and do whatever he wants.
To be completely honest, it would not surprise me at all to learn that this entire thing was made up by Davis. Hell, I bet what actually happened is he did in fact talk to these coaches but then "interpreted" the quotes in the way that he wanted. And now, he gets to say whatever he wants about all these programs under the guise of the credibility of these coaches. And the cherry on top is that the coaches are pretty much hand-cuffed from publicly saying "Hey, I didn't say that! You're twisting my words!" since everything is currently anonymous.
Hell, the more I think about what I just wrote, the more I think it's what happened. Brilliantly done, Seth. If only Batman had made it to your office in time, your dastardly plan would have been foiled once again.
Seth has had it in for UW for as long as I can remember. He really hates Bo, his style of play and that Bo keeps winning. In 2 year's UW will have a Final Four contending team, then Seth will really hate UW.
Great article. Describes Wisconsin to a T.
Hmm...another MSU fan dumber than shit. It's like the sun rising in the East.
Oh, by the way, from the same article: "They don't have a lot of tricks. If you can't stop them they're going to run that same fricking play over and over again. I'm still not sure Keith Appling is a pure point guard. He has had a good year but I don't know that he has had a great year. Defensively I love him, but offensively he can be a mistake maker. Nix...Last year I thought he was fat and not worth anything..."
Go drop some fries for me, I'd like a value meal.

Awww little brother...
They grow up so fast!
"We don't care about anything but winning. No one cares about ethical standards thats for losers..."
It makes your wins against us less impressive, so it negatively effects you too.
You can talk when Bo Ryan gets to a Final Four. Until then, shut your mouth and realize that nobody thinks the Vadgers are nationally relevant except for Vadger fans.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
You're right. That's why Wisconsin was included in an article about dishing gossip about the top teams in the country. Idiot.
Nice try. No matter what it says about MSU and others, you have to admit that Wiscy was absolutely lambasted. BTW, this isn't news to the other fans in the B1G. We've known it for years. It's just nice to finally read it in print, and watch you guys squirm about it! I mean, it doesn't get much worse than "I don't really respect the way they play. Jordan Taylor likes to run and grab you, and then throw his head back and try to get a call. If you set a pick, they take a dive. They cheat the game. Everybody raves about this defensive juggernaut, but that's bull. They dribble the clock out and mug you out of the building." Too funny.
It will be interesting during the NCAA tourney to see how the BiG Ten does. None of the teams have been consistent.I am afraid UK will dominate in the tourney.
You're clearly didn't understand my point, which is about Seth Davis and not the article. My bad for having expectations. It also seems to have gone over your head that you being on our boards trying very, very hard to troll kind of makes it hard to respect anything you think or say.
Nobody here is "squirming" and nobody who knows anything about basketball will take most of the crap said about most teams on there seriously. But I'm sure the Michigan Community College folk know more than people like Ken Pomeroy, who statistically shows Wisconsin with the 3rd most effective defense in the country. http://kenpom.com/
Also, Taylor is on there as #7 in his POY award. I think you need a subscription though. http://kenpom.com/kpoy.php
Oh, that's right - KenPom. Wisconsins' savior. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. Any poll that has Wisconsin 3rd in anything is not worth subscribing to. You miss my point. For years, the rest of the B1G complained about Wisconsin flopping and grabbing, and holding, and, well - cheating. Deny it if you want, but this article is spot on. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Enjoy your one weekend in March Madness.
