What is the point?!?!?!
Yes, I get all that. But am I the only person frustrated that we can't even make Jones top four then find out we are spending time sending out offers to guys that have a 5% chance of leaving the SEC? And if they aren't actually recruiting these guys and are just throwing out offers then I have to ask, what is the point? I'm not a hater either, I think GA is going to be very successful.
Recruiting is all about making inroads. Chances are, this recruit will not be the last successful one out of the area. If it causes that player to pay more attention to us, we've been successful
If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
So let me get this straight:
Coaches shouldn't take two minutes out of their day to call someone up and say "Hey, I'd like to officially extend to you a football scholarship to the University of Wisconsin - Madison. We really like your film and would love to get you up here for some visits. It will be fun. Bye!" just because there's only at "5% chance of [them] leaving the SEC" ???
1) Boo hoo if he doesn't come here.
2) Let's go with your five percent chance. That's small. Sure. So let's offer twenty guys like this.
Don't be so shortsighted. It's like if someone were offering free lottery tickets. Except there are MUCH better odds in this situation.

IF he leaves the SEC it will be for OSU, ND, or Mich, maybe Clemson. UW has a 0% chance of landing him. Alvarez took us down this road already...it didn't work. You want to recruit these type of players out of the SE and build pipelines and relationships with the coaches at those football facttories u better be prepared to spend more than five minutes. It takes significant time and energy to do that. If that's what we are doing then lets do it in the Midwest, and east and west coast where the brand and coaches are more recognizeable.
When GA has the type of success I expect he will...then I think we can be real players for guys like this.
Wow, can we hire you as the official recruiting coordinator?
Sure!!! I'm Mr. Personality; if I had that job we'd not only land the best players from GA. But also Alabama and Florida!!
I'll make the call.
Different staff, different times. UW had more success the past five years than the four teams you mentioned. I believe Coach A is trying to change the perception of UW. If you believe Coach A is going to be successful (and you do), give him some time to prove his plan. We don't know yet and that's the fun part.
