I guess you have to start some time, but looking at the last couple of years, Az kids stay out west, and thats without the Az schools being any good. I am not saying it cant happen, but its going to be hard.
IMHO the coaching staff is working hard at developing relationships with kids and high school coaching staffs in CA, AZ, UT, GA, NJ, and FL. I know it is unsettling to some folks on here and some think it is a waste of time but I disagree. Some have already pointed out that it might not contribute to any commits this year but if the staff maintains these relationships it will inevitably lead to commits in the years to come. Regardless of the outcome this year, the staff is already making a name for themselves with these highly rated recruits all around the country that WI is serious about recruiting the best regardless of location. You may not agree with the plan but you have to let it play out before you make a judgement.
Does it really matter. I want the best kids possible. Whether they are from Arizona, Wyoming, Idaho, or Maine, it does not matter.
Outside of securing Wisconsin an preventing poaching of good in-state kids, I don't care where we recruit as long as we get quality kids. Being from Florida does not mean your better than the Georgia kid. All it means is the two kids have different driver's licenses.
the coaching staff, Busch in particular, have connections in Arizona and NV.
