I have just gotten a phone call but not able to confirm it any where. So not saying what name I heard.
Tell us what you heard. We aren't gonna ridicule you if it isn't right
With the Tucker news today, most think he is the man. Barry at his presser said that he has one more interview this week. He also said that he wont/cant hire anyone until later this week.
Does anyone know who the interview is with this week? We can narrow down the candidates... We know Tucker was interviewed... A few others may have interviewed but turned down the job,
Beat Stanford text me when we have a coach
BA just talked and said that he has one more interview this week and then will make a decision. Truthfully with all the stuff of the week...I'd say, just hold the name under wraps....no need to freak anyone out.
About that talk...did anyone else feel BA basically admitted he was out of touch with how fast and unpleasant modern collage football is? He talked about how it was only 10 days and that other coaches put time deadlines on the assistants. I've said from the start....everyone has switched to this new model of agents and search firms and they get stuff done real quick for a reason. Good ol boy calling your buddies is not how it works anymore.
Hopefully he gets a good guy, but it was disheartening hearing him basically admit he would have liked to keep some assistants and they did not stay.
"We don't care about anything but winning. No one cares about ethical standards thats for losers..."
BUCKNUTS 21 self trolling.
I didn't see barry talk, but if he made that comment, time has passed him by.

Come on. Tell us the name or don't post this.
That's how I took it.
I interpreted it the same way. To express surprise that a program would put time pressure on a guy to accept an offer is awfully naive for a man of BA's stature. Fact is time is not on his side or any of our assistants and other programs know that and can use it to their advantage. That's just the way the world works and it's not a new concept. It's just using whatever leverage you have available. If BA wants to take away that leverage all he needs to do is hire a head coach. Problem solved.
State law is preventing him from hiring a new coach until next Wed or Thur at the earliest.
If I am wrong please correct me, but couldn't barry just say" I didn't name the guy coach but come Wed, I like his chances" to get around the hiring delay?
Ball tweeted, "Danny o brien just messaged me this.. 'let's do this'... it shall be done then my man. #wiscONsin."
If you had your guy and were handcuffed by the law and your assistants were leaving on you, what would you do? You would tell your assistants who it was. You would let that guy start evaluating which of your assistants he wanted to keep. You might leak out the guy's name and say he was the frontrunner. The law doesn't require you to interview a minimum number of guys. He is still interviewing because he doesn't know who he is going to hire yet. The law is irrelevant at this point so don't use it as an excuse.
Ok, if it's a law than even more so my point stands. Why would he be in anyway surprised people would use it against UW?
I am not a lawyer and don't play one on MB's. So what I have to say could be all wet.
However, no coach is going to agree to accept the job without an offer in writing that has been signed by all appropriate parties. Not with as much money as is being thrown around these days. IF such an agreement were to be signed prior to the end of the two week notice period then the parties to that document would be in violation of state law. Now who gets sued when it is ruled that the document is not valid because it was signed early? Who will owe whom what?
How long do you think it would take to resolve the legal entanglements and then to get a new AD in place who could then begin again the search for a new HC?
And you were worried about this current recruiting class.
If you think there has been disagreement on this board over the HC search think what would go on in a court of law.
