Bucky vs. Sparty

I have a question for the Wisconsin fans. Do you guys mind when national media types/ESPN refer to you guys as "Bucky"? I know it gets under some Michigan State fan's skin when they refer to the football team as "Sparty", and I was wondering if it goes both ways. Personally, I don't mind if they sprinkle a few "Sparty" drops in the commentary, but when that is the only name they use it pisses me off. I imagine we will see an equal number of "Sparty" & "Bucky" references this weekend.

Yea, we hate being called "Sparties", or "Sparty looks to do X against Y team". I love Sparty and all, but unless he's suiting up, it's unlikely he'll be relevant to the game.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

"Wesconsin" just sounds so unnatural man. Who says that? That's ridiculous.

Only reason I hate Sparty is because it always seems like they are going to say something sarcastic or demeaning about the team.

Rece Davis always seems to call us "Bucky the Badger". I don't really care what people call UW in regards to the team, HOWEVER, "Wesconsin" drives me insane!
I like Howard Griffith, but he is the WORST when it comes to saying "Wesconsin".

I can't say I have ever heard Iowa referred to as Herky on-air either.

I can only imagine that outside Dix Steele's delusion of national glory for Iowa's football program he also has visions of their mascot on the big stage also.

"Wesconsin" is common in Indiana.Bob Griese was guilty of Wesconsin too many times.Ellinois is common here(Louisville).
