If Philips and Budmayr were healthy, no way Wilson or O'Brien would have been Badgers. Short of more losses at QB, I see no need to bring in transfer QB's after O'Brien is done. If OBrien starts this fall right away, then I think Philips doesn't attempt to get a 6th year and Budmayr will probably be done as well. Then UW will need 2 QB's in 2014.

What did Butler do wrong? I had no problem with him.

As long as we don't loose 3/4 of our scholarship players to major injuries again, I don't think he has to worry.

Well if OSU wants him they're not going to just concede him to another school. You can bet they're not conceding Zaire either. Maybe they've misplayed Bailey so far but they did the same with Dodson and look what happened there. The question is whether they really, truly want him as their QB or if they just want to keep him hanging around as a safety valve in case they don't get JT Barrett. He obviously senses it's the latter and that's OK with me.

The only problem with playing at Nebraska is that you have to live in Nebraska. Oh, and that you can't make the NFL as a Nebraska QB, except as a Safety.

Which Nebraska QBs made it to the NFL? Zac Lee? Joe Ganz? Zac Taylor? Joe Dailey? Jammal Lord?

That's the list of Nebraska QBs in the last 15 years. In that time 3 Wisconsin QBs have played in the NFL, with a 4th likely next year.

Nebraska has the worst academics in the Big 10. He'll get plenty of support at the UW and the opportunity to earn a degree from a respected university. If academics are high on his list, he has made the right decision in naming Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Illinois as his top 3.

On the football side, Nebraska's offense is abysmal. While he's a defensive coach, Bielema clearly understands how important the offense is and what direction it needs to keep going in to be successful. Can the same be said of Pelini?
