Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha running back Taiwan Deal committed to Wisconsin, his coach Elijah Brooks reported to 247Sports.
Deal is commit No. 9 for the Badgers in 2014.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Deal chose the Badgers over offers from the likes of Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
Deal informed Brooks early Tuesday morning he was headed to Wisconsin.
"I think that’s where his heart has been since the very beginning," Brooks said.
The Badgers offered Deal in late March and he visited Madison in early April. He becomes the ninth commit for head coach Gary Andersen and his staff in the class-of-2014. Assistant coaches Thomas Hammock and Chris Beatty recruited him.
"He just fell in love with the staff," Brooks said. "He feels the running backs coach and him really connected. Their facilities, the entire school, he just fell in love with it."
As a junior, Deal carried 130 times for 955 yards and 21 touchdowns.
"Wisconsin is getting a very hard runner who's potential is limitless," Brooks stated. "I think he’s going to the right fit for him and I think he's going to do a fantastic job for them."
