No. 25 Wisconsin (17-5, 6-3) knocked off No. 16 Indiana (16-5, 4-5) 57-50 to win their fifth straight game and ninth in a row against the Hoosiers.
Brust led Wisconsin with 13 points.
Although trailing for much of the second half, and the game itself, the Badgers hit timely shots and collected key rebounds to grab, and sustain a late lead over the Hoosiers.
Sophomore Guard Ben Brust was the hero offensively for Wisconsin. His 10 second half points, including a three-pointer to give Wisconsin it’s first lead of the second half, sparked the Badger victory.
Brust was 3-6 from downtown and recorded his third double-digit scoring performance in Big Ten play.
"Ben yeah, when his shoulders are squared and his feet are set, he tends to shoot it a lot better that way," said Wisconsin Head Coach Bo Ryan. "He does a great job of spacing, he does a great job of cutting.
"The next thing you know, he finds himself open. He's very aware of where he is on the floor and what he's trying to get accomplished."
Indiana Head Coach Tom Crean was none too pleased with the foul disparity. Wisconsin got to the line nine more times than the Hoosiers.
Indiana got just 19 minutes out of their leading scorer, Cody Zeller, due to foul trouble throughout the game.
“I’m not going anywhere with that,” Crean said about the foul disparity. “Watch the tape and I’m not even going to get into any of that stuff.

Zeller played just 19 minutes for Indiana.
“He got a foul called on him the second possession of the game. Cody did some really good things, he really did. He was one of our two guys to get to the foul line tonight.
“Not sure I’ve ever seen that.”
Crean thinks the Hoosiers adjusted well to Wisconsin’s pace and style of play. Indiana managed just 50 points, but shot 45.7 percent from the field.
“We answered the bell on the pace of the play,” said Crean. “They’re going to play at a snail’s pace. That’s what they do. You’ve got to steal possessions.
“We rebounded the ball very well for most of the game. They got a couple of big rebounds at the end.
“Contact sport at the end and we struggled getting those balls they did.”
In the past 11 seasons, Wisconsin has trailed at the half just 33 times in 176 games at the Kohl Center. The Badgers have come back to win 22 of those games.
Wisconsin went into the locker room at halftime trailing Indiana 27-25. The Badgers shot just 10-26 from the floor in the first half and 3-7 from the free throw line.
Bruesewitz sealed the victory for Wisconsin.
It was a different story for the Badgers in the second half as Wisconsin hit 41 percent of their shots from the floor and were 12-12 from the charity stripe.
“(We) pretty much just had to keep fighting,” Junior Forward Jared Berggren said. “It wasn’t going to be easy, we had to scrap to the very end.
“The mindset with shooting is the next one is going to go down. You’ve always got to keep the confidence and know that things are going to turn around and keep battling defensively too.”
Shots weren’t always falling for the Badgers who had to battle and out-scrap the Hoosiers for a few loose balls in the game’s final minutes.
Junior Forward Mike Bruesewitz beat Zeller to a rebound in the game's final seconds, was fouled, and hit two free throws to seal the victory for Wisconsin.
“They were great, every single one of them,” said Senior Guard Jordan Taylor. “Mike (Bruesewitz) and Ryan (Evans) with their rebounds at the end.
“Jared (Berggren) did a great job on (Cody) Zeller. [Zeller] is obviously one of the best players in the country and what Jared was able to do to him was impressive.”
With the win, Wisconsin won it’s fifth straight conference game, keeping the Badgers within a half game of Big Ten leaders Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State.
“I think we had to just keep believing that we have a good team in here and we knew that,” Berggren said. “Despite the struggles at the start of the Big Ten, we knew what we had here.
“We knew we had guys that weren’t going to give up easy and we were turning things around. Scratch and claw our way back into things and now we’re right in the thick of things in the Big Ten race.
“We’ve got another big one coming next at Penn State. Every game is huge in the Big Ten and hopefully we can keep things rolling.”
