Bielema addresses another OT loss

Wisconsin lost their second-straight overtime game on Saturday.

Wisconsin Head Coach Bret Bielema addresses Wisconsin's second-straight overtime loss, and fifth loss of the season decided by a touchdown or less.

    • I like BB, but these loses are pilling up and the same thing is happening over and over again. Say what you want about the players, but its the coaches need to put players in a position to succeed. They have -1 yards in 3 overtime games. That is on Canada. He seems to think if the play works 1 time, why not run it 5 or 6 more times.

    • 3-9 since the TCU Rosebowl in games decided by 7 points or less. The wins, last year vs MSU in big 10 championship game. This year vs northern Iowa & Utah state.

    • I'll repeat something that I said at the beginning of the season... it's going to be tough going when you don't have an experienced QB, add to that a new OC and we have 5 losses. Just go back and look at the seasons when the Badgers had a new QB... it's often called as the most important position on the team for a reason.

      On Wisconsin!

agreed, but the QB position clearly kept them in every game. In my mind coach / play calling cost them more than anything this year.

If I had to rank the Badgers problems this year...
      1. Quarterbacking. Just not putting ourselves In a position to spread ourselves over the field. I bet if someone did analysis, our throws only go so far.
1a. Leadership. I don't see it like I did last year. Borland is obviously the leader of that defense and he's sat on the sideline. Montee can only go so far and the QB doesn't have the talent to gain the trust/admiration of the team. I look at the badgers and see a tired, frustrated team. Should be better next year.
      2. Wide Receivers. Has anyone talked about the number if key drops last night? Good lord, the lack of talent at that position isn't funny, thankfully we have a great coach at the position which is more than I could say about. .
      3. The O-Coordinator. This conservative BS is killing us. Elite teams win close games, we aren't elite til that happens, I'm retracting what I said.
      4. Defensive talent. I was against Ash earlier in the year, but wow has the defensive coaching job been fantastic given the talent we have. Thankfully, this problem should be solved if the "stars" pan out.

    • Wolfie, I think when ranking you almost get a what comes first the chicken or the egg. If the Wr's catch the ball, QB's look better, which then Canada looks alot better. I can say this year, I could've ranked all of them 1 at some part. This is why I think its Canada. He is the 1 that is QB coach, so he has alot to do with the top 3 problems. Against the good teams, Canada looks the whole range from good to what the hell are you calling. I will go back to in 3 overtime games, that have a net -1 yard total in 10 plays. I would hate to be at this time next year with UW having 3 plus loses and either wondering or knowing that Canada is the problem.

    • I think we need a balanced offense....thats all.
