Biegel names a leader

Hayden Biegel

Biegel will be visiting Wisconsin next weekend.

Although he's taking the process slow, Wisconsin Rapids (Wis.) Lincoln Offensive Tackle Hayden Biegel has a leader. Who's out front for the three-star lineman?

    • You have to give credit to this young man as well. It would be hard to turn down full rides to several other quality schools for a greyshirt offer from UW. It will be great to get him plus save a scholarship for another player. Hopefully he accepts the greyshirt. This kid has loads of potential with his size and athleticism. Probably won't contribute his first 2 years (needs to gain a bunch of weight) but I see good things from him in the future.

    • I saw a photo on another site that made him look much more "filled out" than this photo does.

He does need to add weight and that extra semester off would certainly help with that.

I agree...I read somewhere that he is up to 250 already. I know that's not big enough yet for Big 10, but with his height, I think he can easily add more to his frame in 1-2 years.

that's plenty big enough for every school besides Wisconsin. Kids can put on about 40/50 pounds, which would make him in the 300 range. Look at the depth charts of the other B1G schools and that would make him a prototypical lineman for those schools.

    • Current weight is not an issue whatsoever. He's explosive and athletic - prototypical LT once the weight starts coming on. It's so much better to take an athletic tight end type and add weight than to take a lumbering 300lb high school kid and try to improve his pad level and footwork.

I think Joe Thomas was somewhere in that range as a H.S. senior as well.

    • I believe Gabe Carimi weighed around 260 as a HS senior.
